Get To Know CBD Oil And The Benefits Behind The Controversial “Special” Plant Extracts

What is CBD?

First of all, we need to know what CBD is. So, what is CBD? It is short for Cannabidiol, one of more than 100 substances called cannabinoids found in cannabis plants. So, what makes it so popular to use? This oil interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which regulates various processes from pain and mood to appetite and sleep.

Is CBD Oil intoxicating?

Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a psychoactive substance found in cannabis, CBD is not intoxicating. CBD tends to originate from hemp plants, which contain less THC content than cannabis and are different from the types that are often misused.

Is CBD Oil legally legal?

Technically, the US Drug Enforcement Agency still classifies CBD as a drug that is currently accepted and has great potential for abuse. Although the World Health Organization (WHO) states that CBD “has no effect that indicates abuse or potential dependence”. But if the plant is legal to grow under state law, its use is considered legitimate.

Benefits of CBD Oil?

CBD has even been known as a cancer drug. The National Cancer Institute states, “Cannabinoids may have benefits in the treatment of cancer-related side effects.” Whether it’s symptoms of anxiety, depression, insomnia, heart disease, liver disease, stroke, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, and so on, CBD Oil should be good for it.

Is There Evidence for the Benefits of CBD Oil?

A study showed that CBD applied topically can reduce pain and inflammation from arthritis, but the study was done in mice. Studies for humans are being conducted into the possibility of using CBD for the abuse or addiction to alcohol, drugs, and anxiety attacks triggered by trauma, hopefully, it will prove to be more conclusive.

Sometimes the evidence is done for cannabis as a whole, not just the CBD separately. For example, there is uncertainty whether only CBD is useful for treating epilepsy compared to cannabis extracts that are richer than CBD.

CBD oil has been approved in the UK to treat multiple sclerosis, but the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, which advises doctors at the NHS, gives it a “not recommended” status.

Side Effects of CBD Oil?

Unpublished and desirable consequences of using CBD oil can include fatigue, irritability, nausea, and diarrhea. CBD can also increase the level of other drugs in the body, including making blood thinner.

Is CBD Oil Good or Bad?

There are good and bad conclusions that can be drawn from various studies that have been done.

  • Good: another case with THC, CBD Oil is not easy to make users addicted and it has the potential to reduce anxiety disorders.
  • Poor: researchers don’t know specifically who CBD oil will be useful for. For example, the nature of reducing anxiety can be in a small group of people who really need it, or it can shift over time.
  • Bad potential: people are only interested in its effects and do not discuss core issues in life or medical history, which in turn only confuses them.
